Patient has labially impacted #11. Orthodontic treatment with canine uncover without extraction
Maxillary canines are the most commonly impacted teeth, second only to third molars. It occurs more on the palatal than the labial side. The treatment of impacted canines usually requires an interdisciplinary approach and it involves surgical exposure of the impacted tooth, followed by orthodontic traction to guide and align it into the dental arch. Bone loss, root resorption, and gingival recession around the treated teeth are some of the most common complications.
